How to Make Sure He Calls You Back
Were you ever asked for your number by a guy you just met, but he never really called you back? It can be pretty confusing why he didn’t, particularly if your conversation was pretty enjoyable and you seemed to hit it off pretty well. Here are a few possible reasons why he didn’t call you.
#1 – He’s too immature to call you back. He probably knows how to break the ice and get your number, but he was probably too scared of the responsibility to set up a second date or carry a good conversation. He probably also got your number to show off to his immature friends.
#2 – You weren’t "fling material." Some guys are out in the dating game simply for the fun of it, and not to find "girlfriend material" women. During the course of your first conversation, you probably gave signs that you were interested in a long-term relationship, which made him decide not to risk things by calling you back.
#3 – They were just being polite. Have you ever been approached by a guy you weren’t particularly attracted to, and just gave him a fake number when he asked for it? This is his way of turning you down politely – he simply asked for your number as a "nice" way of ending the conversation.
#4 – They lost your number, or simply forgot to call. (Yes, this does happen.)
#5 – They lost any attraction they may have had for you when they first approached you. This is the most common reason. Men approach you because they probably felt attracted to your looks, your body language, or the way you carry yourself. But it’s easy to lose this attraction when you start talking.
Here’s how it often goes – when you first start talking, you might feel a little defensive and not give too much information about yourself. You start to loosen up after a few minutes, and after you give him your number you might have felt very comfortable with him – perhaps too comfortable.
What happens when you become too comfy with him? You probably began talking to him about things that friends talk about – your plans for the week, what to do on your next date, or what TV shows you like. Does this sound like you? If so, then you probably killed off any attraction he may have had for you.
It would be better if you saved the getting-to-know-you part of things for the next date – that way you gave him a reason to want to see you again. And don’t forget to make things fun for him – joke around, tease, and flirt playfully. Leave a good first impression, and he’ll definitely call you back soon enough.
